Adrian Gonzalez of Urban Potters announces the opening of a third ceramic studio in London

Spacious ceramic studio

Located in Oval, the new space will follow the winning format of Urban Potters Camberwell: open to emerging and established makers

London, 1 June 2026 — London-based ceramicist Adrian Gonzalez is expanding his creative footprint with the opening of a third studio space in Oval, marking a significant milestone in his rapidly growing practice. Following the success of his two Camberwell studios - one dedicated to member access and the other focused on pottery classes - this new site reflects Gonzalez’s commitment to nurturing community, craftsmanship, and innovation within contemporary ceramics.

The Urban Potters Oval studio is a dedicated workspace designed to strengthen London’s growing community of ceramic artists and makers. Gonzalez’s Camberwell studios have become hubs for emerging ceramicists, potters, enthusiasts, and students drawn to learn and explore pottery. Their periodic open-studio sales have proved strategically successful, offering makers a strong platform for selling and attracting a loyal clientele year after year.

The new studio will allow Urban Potters to expand production, host specialised workshops and talks, and support the development of new bodies of work, while continuing to serve the community. It also reinforces his presence within London’s thriving ceramics scene by expanding access to high-quality equipment, professional resources, and collaborative opportunities for makers at different stages of their practice.

Created to meet the increasing demand for accessible creative spaces in the city, the studio offers places for intermediate and advanced ceramicists. It brings together a diverse group of makers - from early-career ceramicists refining their skills, to independent artists seeking a stable and affordable base, to experienced makers looking for greater autonomy in firing and glazing.

Conceived as a supportive, community-driven environment, the space encourages makers to develop their craft, share knowledge, and experiment with new ideas. With a focus on long-term growth, the studio provides the tools and conditions needed for artists to build confidence, expand their technical abilities, and pursue professional opportunities.

The opening of Urban Potters Oval reinforces the organisation’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent and contributing to London’s vibrant ceramics landscape. Over the years, its studios have played a key role in the development of many emerging makers, and this new space continues that mission - offering a home for creativity, innovation, and connection.

Located just a few minutes’ walk from Oval tube station, the studio offers an alternative to working in isolation, providing access to professional kilns, specialist tools, and facilities that would otherwise be difficult to obtain.

The studio has just opened its doors and will have an inaugural event on 27 and 28 June, offering visitors the chance to explore the space, ask questions, and learn about the membership. Further information will be announced via the website and social platforms.

Adrian Gonzalez says: “Opening a third studio feels like a natural evolution. The demand from potters, ceramicists, and our members has grown so quickly, and this new space gives us room to experiment and create on a scale that wasn’t possible before”.
