a shared ceramics studio for a small membership limited to 12 and a space to showcase and support artists and practitioners working with clay through a developing programme of events & projects.

Turning Earth, Highgate, Hoxton & Leyton

Turning Earth's pioneering ceramics studios are for everyone, from beginners to part-time professionals. They offer classes and open-access membership, "like gym membership for potters".

The Clay Loft, Nailsworth

Open access ceramic members studio by Tom Knowles Jackson. It is a vibrant pottery with classes run by Adrian Bates and for a regular calendar of weekend masterclasses, talks, demonstrations and workshops.

Clay @ The Fold, Bransford, Worcester

Opened in August 2023, this open access ceramic members studio is also by Tom Knowles Jackson. Classes, masterclasses, talks, demonstrations and workshops.

Clay College, Stoke

Clay College Stoke offers a skills-based, full-time ceramics course taught by potters who make a living through ceramics, something unique in the UK. The Clay College Diploma offers 14 full-time students the opportunity to study intensively for 2 years and to learn from the best of national and international potters.

Moon Studio Ceramics, Christchurch

Founded in 2015 by artist Imogen Charleston, Moon Studio Ceramics is situated in a rustic converted barn on the outskirts of Christchurch, Dorset. Imogen offers a variety of pottery lessons to suit all ages and abilities. These include ceramic taster classes and experience days for adults, plus clay workshops for children and families.

Cernamic, Stoke Newington and Deptford

Nam Tran and Susi Huang founded Cernamic to make this art form entirely accessible to anyone willing to give it a try. They constantly strive to make their courses affordable and their studio membership diverse, so artists of every level and walk of life have a wheel at Cernamic.

Throwing Shapes, Dublin

Ceramicist Laura Lee runs Raku Taster Days at her studio in Hall Farm Gardens, Harpswell near Gainsborough. She provides you with four pots to decorate resulting in a variety of different amazing outcomes for you to take home afterwards.

Shaldon Pottery Studio, Devon

 Located in the South Devon village of Shaldon, Tina Hill-Art works from a small studio close to the Teign estuary edge. She occasionally has an open studios event and also runs small group ‘pottery experiences’.

Pothole, London N10

A friendly artist-run clay workshop under the arches of the Parkland Walk in Muswell Hill. Run by artists and ceramic tutors Laura Hopkins and Jenny Williamson.

Culford Studios, De Beavoir, East London

Small ceramic studio offering classes and memberships for artists. They regularly organise events, inviting established ceramic artists/designers to talk about their work and career, and sometimes teach a specialist workshop related to their personal practice.

Design Junction, Winchester

Have a throw in this pottery studio located in the heart of Winchester. Give a pot a fresh lick of paint or bash a new one together. Whether a beginner or a tad more advanced they have pottery workshops to cater to all abilities.

The Mill, Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon, Aveyron, FRANCE

Artists and writers retreats hosted by London born Nathalie Edwards, in a beautiful, renovated mill in France. Events in 2025 include Wood-Fired Kiln Building Course with Dr. Robin Wilson & Lisa Sjukur of Oxford University Kilns, Raku Ceramics Course with Helen Ashton and Creative Residency with Guest Artist Victor Pedrosa / Rescued Clay.

Available for sale: Kiln (incl shelves/props), tabletop wheel, large workbench with wheels, slab roller, wedging table, extruder (wall mounted), large shelves, batts, moulds, selection of clay and glazes and a whole range of tools and other studio equipment. It really is everything you’d need, all set up for you. The space itself has a sink, is on the ground floor and has plenty of light.
